A pop-up birdcage sliceform card with template. Round 3 of The European Scrap Battle

This time the challenge was to make a card without using black or white. A difficult task - since a lot of the papers I have have some black or white in them. I wanted to make a card with autumn colours and a pop - up card. I also wanted to make a card with lots of colourful butterflies - so this slice form pop-up bird cage was my solution.

I have used brown bazzill for the birdcage. Butterflies and birds are from Graphic 45 (with most of the black cut of)

The roof ia an old paper from Graphic 45.

The stamp "Every possibility begins with the courage to imagine..." is a stamp from Tim Holtz.

This is my own template. The inspiration is from looking at several actual bird cages and other slice form cards. You are free to use my templates, and publish your own craft. Dette er min egen mal. Inspirasjonen er hentet fra å se på flere bilder av flere fuglebur og andre kort som bruker lignende teknikk med å sette sammen flere skiver. Du kan fritt bruke malen til å lage dine egne arbeider. A pink paper Cadillac - The European Scrap Battle part 3

The Scrap Battle goes on, and this was my contribution for part 3 of the battle - a pink paper Cadillac. The task for the battle was to make something without using black or white - a difficult task.

I have made a few cars before, but for this challenge, I made a pink "hippie" Cadillac with a small guitar in the back. I have added two separate front seats, a steering wheel and a rev view mirror.

The template for the car and guitar is my own.. The wheels on this car do turn - the vehicle can roll. Although I have not added an engine or working lights this time ;)

Pop-up plane with template

This was my contribution for the European Scrap Battle part one and also a DT application for StampARTic. I got to round two in the Scrap Battle and also got a spot with the Design Team at StampArtic.

The task from European Scrap Battle was to make a card in a spesific style with black, white and some red.

On the front of the card, I used a stamp from Penny Black. This is coloured with prismacolors. One black and two red pencils. The background papaer is handmade with black and gray spraypaint.

I have made a small red paper airplane as an embellishment and a compass from one of Tim Holtz gear diecuts and stamps.

The text is written on a pc and printed out.

Inside the card, the paper has been hand made. Spraying paper with black spray, and adding white paint. I have also made my own stencil with some coffee spills, and added distress ink. There is a fold diagonally across the card, where a pop-up plane is hidden.

The pop up plane inside the card.

A fairytale shelf card - 2.nd round of The European Scrap Battle

This was my card for the second round of the European Scrap Battle. The template for the shelf card is my own, and you can find it here: Template for a shelf card

The stamp of the fairy on the mushroom is a digital stamp from Emerald faeries. The frog is a freebie from Dustin Pike. I stamped on craft and coloured with Prismacolors. I have made a small lake on the front of the card, using acetate. To fish have been fixed to acetate under the lake, to make it look as if they are swimming in water. The fairies are from a paper from Graphic 45 (Once upon a springtime). The butterflies are from Kort og Godt. The water lilly is folded from paper. You can find the tutorial here: Water lilly tutorial. The fence in the background is cut with a silhouette. The fence is a cutting file I made myself. The gate is from Les svg dek ldezign. The grass is a file from Silhouette.

A Working Windmill - The European Scrap Battle - An altered project

I have entered the European Scrap Battle.

This is my altered project for round 2. There was supposed to be a vote to get on to the third round, but we all go on to the next round this time.

This windmill was a challenge I got from a friend - Gunn-Eirill a year ago. I was challenged to make a windmill that would produce enough electricity to lighten a small bulb! Those who knows me, know that eventhoug I am Norwegian - I really love Australia. Therefore I thought this had to be an Australian type windmill (actually used to pump water) and an Australian outback house - where the windmill makes a light come on, on the porch.

The house and the windmill is my own design. The papers I have used on the house is Prima - Yesterday lifetime and Fabscraps: Angelic 1 - Angelic Christmas. For the porch, I used Kaisercraft: Recycled - Base Coat. The roof tiles are light gray bazzill from Panduro. I have cut each tile with a silhouette, distressed them with gesso, and glued them on - one by one. The insect netting is cut with a silhouette. The bike on the porch is from Korthobby. Inside the windmill, I have made a small nest out of thin branches and placed tiny eggs and feathers in it.

The Didgeridoo Tilda and Tilda with her Kookaburra are stamped on Kraft and coloured with Prismacolors. The flowers are from Prima and Hobbykunst (Mathia roses). The leaves are from Hobbykunst (Mathia).

The Koala Hug Tilda is also stamped on Kraft and coloured with Prismacolors

The Windmill from the side. In between the flowers and leaves are pearls, white clay hearts and thin ribbon.

The light will only light when the windmill is turned. The generator is made from an old altered computer fan. These fans need to go so quick to make the led bulb light. Therefore, I made a pulley system. The windmill is connected to a cardboard tube (Inside of a Washi tape roll). This cardboard tube is connected to a smaller plastic bobbin with a rubber band. The altered computer fan (generator) is pulled quicker than the windmill goes round.

The windmill will produce light when it is turned around.

This is how to alter an old computerfan to make a windmill

Mixed Media - published in Ett trykk (August)

I have not really done a lot of Mixed Media, but I wanted to have a go. Last issue of Ett Trykk had a sketch challenge - and I made a Mixed Media card.

This is really just a mixture of a lot of different paint, a dive in my flower draw for Prima flowers stash. The papers are watercolour paper and from Prima.

The man is from an old toy, painted with MetaMica. He is sitting in a shuttle race from an old sewing machine, with a metal leaf as a wing. The "bubble" he is sitting in, is half of an acrylic Christmas ornament.
