Chemists have all the solutions - a masculine birthday card

I was challenged with two stamps from 2012 from Kreativ Hobby. I made a masculine card for a 70th birthday, for a science teacher. The card is an easel card, and I have mounted a small test tube on the card.

The male is a free stamp that came with an English magazine this month. The gears are die cuts of cork, with Tim Holtz gears dies.

The test tube is filled with tiny silver pearls. The background paper is from Prima. The paper has some "spilling effects" on it,  although I have made this effect more visible with distress ink and a TH stencil.

 I have made an effect on the blue background paper with different stamps. The text: "Chemists have all the solutions" is a digital stamp I have made myself - you are free to use it.

"Create good memories for yourself and those you love". The text stamp is a stamp from Kreativ Hobby, I masked part of the text.I also got a stamp with hearts, which is one of the stamps used to create the background. The metal clock and "handmade by" hand on the test tube is from KortHobby.

A lot of people ask me if I decorate the back and the inside of cards. Yes I do, but often very simple.

A challenge with Washi tape

We have some inspiration for you over at StampARTic. I find Washitape very decorative, but hard to use on projects. They therefore tend to decorate my shelf only. I also challenged myself to only use old papers and left overs I had in my craft room. This is always a challenge, since there is always new papers and embellishments to get hold of, without using up all my old stuff.

I wanted to decorate a surprise box for a scrapbooking friend. The box is filled with crafting and scrapbooking stuff. I wanted to make the box kind of funny. The bird is a joke between scrapping friends, due to the amount of failed paper projects, which is just being burned in the woodstove. The joke is that these projects then gives much needed heat for the birds outside during the cold winter.

 

I hardly use washi tape - and wanted to try to craft some flowers and decoration with the tape. The box is a handmade 10cm x10cm x 10cm box. The bird is made of a polystyrene egg. The paper feathers are made as individual feathers with a flower punch, dividing the petals. I added the hat on the bird for some humour. The white "fluff" on the hat is made from Washi tape. The bow is made out of Washi tape.

The flowers and banners under the flowers are also made from Washi tape. There is a glass bead in between the flowers.

 

A wedding card

I have made a made an easel wedding card. The paper is from "Best creation - Mr and Mrs - Words". The text stamp about kissing is from Ett Trykk. The flowers are Mathia roses. 

This card is one of the cards in the "Cardmakers ABC class" at Hobbykunst.

A birthday card for a little sailor

We are working on reuse of things from the kitchen at StampARTic. 

I made a card using an altered "diaper fold". This is one of the cards that will be included in my ABC card maker class.

The image is a finished coloured topper Sheet from Mo Manning (Hobby House: Sailor Crew) The gears have been cut out of a Balsamico vinegar box. 

The seaweeds are made of a plastic box, that came with a box of salad leaves. I have seen  branches being made of shrink plastic and coloured with alcohol ink. I wanted to find out if plastic, that I normally throw away - also can be used as Shrink plastic - and some of it can! I cut out the seaweeds with scissors, used the hot air gun to shrink it, and coloured it with alcohol ink.

The mast and sails is a tag, which can be taken out. I have made a flag out of Washi tape in the top of the mast. 

There is room to write a message on the back of the tag.

Vintage card

We are still in a recycle theme on StampARTic. Pop over to the StampARTic blog to have a look at some of the ideas the designers haven given.

I decided to make an easy card. I am going to give classes in cardmaking for beginners - and this is one of the cards we are going to make.

The flowers are Mathia flowers. The thin diecut with hearts is from Memory box. The vintage girl is from a Sagen serviette. I took of the thin patterned side of the serviette, lay it on a piece of card stock (250g) with a thin layer of food plastic film between the serviette and the card stock. Then I added a thin layer of cotton to the top of the serviette and ironed the layers. 

 The corrugated cardboard came in the box with some new plates we just bought. I have also punched doilies out of coffee filters.  The butterfly is a Martha Stewart punch, and I used a part from an old sewing machine as body of the butterfly.

People often ask me if I decorate the inside of cards - and yes I often do, although very simple. The text is from a serviette from Hobbykunst, and I used the same technique as on the vintage girl.

I have also decorated the back of the card carfully. Papers from Papirdesign - tanker om fremtiden and Maja design - Vintage frost Basics. The punch is a "Punch oroud the page punch" from Martha Stewart.

Home is where the heart is - a chabby chic Prima house

 Today we have an article about "love" for something at StampARTic. I do really enjoy 3D papercrafting and decided to do one of my templates of the house box. I will also do a class in this in Bergen on the 15.th of February.

The house, door, windows and bike is my own silhouette files. I have mostly used Prima papers from different older collections.

I have distressed the tiles on the roof, the roof and the flowers with Gesso. I have aslo used a stensil with gesso and distress stain to create an effect on the walls. The bird is a Prima bird from one of Ingvild Bolmes Collections

The window is a diecut of my own design, made with a silhouette.

The flowers are from Hobbykunst, Prima and and left overs from my flower draw :)

The small heart, between the flowers, on the roof is designed by Gunn-Eirill.

The roof can be taken of. Inside I have made wallpaper and a carpet. The room inside the house can hold a small gift.
