Don't forget to fly - Mixed media canvas

This is a mixed media canvas created for a class, that I am going to give this autumn. Some information of the products are given in this blogpost. However, a lot of information is left to those who take the class.

The paper used here is from  Prima's Bella Rouge Collection. The flowers are from different manufacturers.

I have used washi tape, stencil and mists on the background.

I have used the sketch from More than words for this canvas:

It is still July, but this is my first Christmas project for this year. The canvas is part of a class I am going to have this autumn. I am giving some information about the canvas and the materials used, in the post. However, I wish to keep some of the information about how to create it for those who take the class.

Papers are Prima's Bella Rouge Collection, and flowers are from different brands.

I have also used Snowflake dies from Rayher, under the flowers.

Shaker card with Maja's Summertime collection and Tim Holtz's Mixed Media Thinlits dies

This card is created with Maja's new Summertime collection, for Hobbykunst. I have used Tim Holz new Thinlits dies to create the pattern in the paper.

I have used a clear acetate page under the paper and added 3D foam tape to the edges at the back of the card. This is to create a shaker box. I have added silver and white sequins and closed the box with a piece of white cardstock at the back. Then I added the shaker box to the card.

The Mixed media Thinlits are so nice, so the card does not necessary need a lot more decoration.

Here, you can see the sequins under the diecut.

The back of the card has been decorated with a personal stamp and a banner. .

The last post for Kaisercraft this term - favourite creation

Today, is the last blogpost for Kaisercraft's 2015-2016 design team together. We have been asked to show our favourite creation this term.

This dress was created for CHA - spring 2016. The dress is created over a dress form, with an underskirt and a crinoline over the underskirt. The ruffles are fixed to the crinoline. The dress also has a bustle, which was typical for dresses in the periode from the 1870s to the 1890s.

The pattern for the dress was created over a weekend from copy paper, and the dress itself was created over one evening.

This dress has also traveled around the world. It was sent from Norway to Kaisercraft in Australia by post. Then, it was sent to California in the US to go to CHA. I picked the dress up from CHA, when it was over and brought it back with me to Norway in the hand luggage on the airplane.

It has been a fantastic year with Kaisercraft. Next DT year starts in August with a new design team.

A summer dress

I tried very hard not to create a dress with the Mademoiselle collection, but I didn't manage to resist it. I am one of those crafter's who always has something with me, to create something on holiday. This is quite a simple dress that was created while I was on a car holiday this summer (and yes, most of the dress was created while I was a passenger in the car).

I you ever wonder about the amout of paper used for projects like this - only about 11 sheets of 12x12 paper were used for this dress. However this is a small dress, only about 25cm tall, and it does have limited amout of ruffles. I have used up to 50 sheets of 12x12 papers on some of my other paper dresses.

I have used one of Kaisercraft swirl dies, together with glitter cardstock, to create the base for the flower decorations.

Bottle shaped tag for a baby

This is a bottle shaped tag, created for Hobbykunst, with the sweet Cottage Rose collection from Kaisercraft and the cute rabbit stamp from Little Darlings.

The motive is simply coloured with shades with Promarker and Touch. I have used light gray at the edges of the rabbit, and light pink at on the ears, feet and nose. I have also added a line of light gray around the outside of the rabbit to create some shade. To create some background effect, I have colured the background with dots of skincolour.

Pink and white flowers are from Petaloo.

The back of the tag, has been simly decorated with a panel and a place to write a message.

Sometimes, I get asked "What du you use tags for?". I often use them as cards on presents, and as a decoration on the present itself.

Here, the gift is a little toy rabbit. It is simply wrapped in cellophane, and the tag is used as a decoration.
