Made some sweetbags. I got the text stamps from North Star Stamps - and had to make something with them.

The background paper for the topper is made from using Dylutions spray and Color shine from Heidi Swap. The wheel tracks are made from an old toy car with inked tires. The tractor motive is from Dulemba and coloured with promarkers. The stamp "traktoregg - tractor eggs" is from North Star Stamps

The background paper for this topper is from Panduro. The stamp is"Tilda with hawaiian flower" - coloured with promarkers. The text "englesnop - angel candy" is from  North Star Stamps.

A new quilted handbag and testing promarkers on fabric

I have made another quilted handbag. This is for myself this time, so I decided to go for an Aussie theme. A lot of the fabrics are from Stoff og Stil. The fabric with aboriginal pattern was bought in Sydney.

I have tested stamping and colouring with promarkers on fabric. The stamp is Koala Hug Tilda, and a butterfly stamp. I have drawn the grass and flowers. The flowers are kangaroo paw, desert pea and kattamarant.

The other side of the bag is similar, but a different motive.

Since I do play didg - I could not resist having Didgeridoo Tilda on one of the sides. This is also stamped with fabric ink and coloured with promarkers.

A tips when you colour fabric with promarkers, is to iron the fabric often while you colour. The colour in the markers will often bleed on fabrics, and the heat from the iron prevents the bleeding.

I have decorated another Christmas ornament. The stamp is Magnolia mini world " Tilda in winter night" - and has een coloured with promarkers. I have also used snowpaint from Panduro - with glitter on the edges oft Tildas jacket and hat. I was asked to make an angel - so I made wings for Tilda. The wings are made from Vellum - punching two large Martha Stewart butterflies. The bench is made in 3D from paper.

The acrylic ball is from Hobbykunst. The background paper is from Pion design "Church - Silent Night". The pine tree is an origami tree. On the ground I have used snowpaint and plastic beads.

As a part of the DT, I have decorated a paper bag. The motive is from The Paper Shelter, and it is coloured with promarkers. I have also used Snow Paint from Panduro, and added glitter, to paint the snow. Some of the charms are from korthobby.no, while others have been bought at in the UK.

I have also used old lace and edge punch from Martha Stewart. The papers were bought in the UK, a few years ago - and this was some left over paper.

A Christmas tree challenge....

This time, I got a challenge from Hobbykunst in Vestby.

I was given this large Styrofoam Cone - and the task was to make a Christmas tree. I decided to make a tree with some volume. After taking Sherry Mendozas class and using Dylusions sprays - I decided to have a go on this project.

I covered the cone with smaler cones made of the pages from two, old "Wind in the willows" books. The book pages was glued onto the Styrofoam Cone using a hot glue gun.

When the cone was covered with old book pages, the tree was sprayed with Dylusions sprays (Fresh, Cut Grass, Melted and London). I also carfully sprayed the tree with Heidi Swapp: Chartreuse - Color . The star was made in gold paper using a free star template from Crafting creatures. The pattern inside the star is a free svg fileThe star has been cut, using Silhouette studio.

This sweet little snowman is a free digi stamp from Birdie Brown. The Poinsettia has been cut with Silhouette, after a free template from Birds cards

This is a digital stamp from Emerald Faeries Digi Stamps

The digi stamp of the Santa shark is a free digistamp from Dustin Pike

This digis tamp of a penguin melting frozen fish is also a free digistamp from Dustin Pike

I also made small Conifer cones from Styrofoam eggs. The eggs were covered with smal paper triangles. At the edges, I have used snowpaint from Panduro.

I also decorated some acrylic ornament balls (4 cm).

These acrylic ornament balls are also 4 cm. On the back, I have used the stamps "Christmas Words" from Dylusions. I have stamped on a single sheet of white tissue paper and glued the tissues to the inside of the all with Mod Podge. I have sprinkled gold glitter over the glue - and painted the all white inside when the glue/seal had dried. The balls are left blank at the front - so the decoration inside can be seen clearly.

This Christmas tree is made for Hobbykunst in Vestby - and can be seen there.

Steampunk Christmas - a Christmas card with handmade steampunk googles and lights!

I entered a card competion at “Ski treffet” last weekend. The task was "Steampunk and Christmas".  I have never made any Steampunk before - had no metal gears to use - and did not really know where to start. I tried to find out what Steampunk really is - and found, that it`s a combination of Victorian vision of the future and science fiction. I thought the idea was just creasy - so I decided to just make the card/project completely crazy.

Without any gears - my search for gears started. Someone told me to go and find old watches - although new watches have few gears.

Then I found this "Pandoras box” of a clock at a second hand shop - and it made my day :)

After looking through a lot of steampunk pictures - I decided that - in almost all of them - the people in the digistamps or pictures had Steampunk goggles. Then I decided to make a set of goggles to put into the card - just like tea lights in a tea light card.

The goggles are made of the cardboard center of a roll of kitchen cloths - but the cardboard center of a toilet roll or kitchen roll can also be used. The thicker the cardboard roll is - the better.  The cardboard roll has been cut to shape, and covered with paper.

The nose bridge on the glasses, is a recycled part of a draw handle (the nob has been removed). The straps are med from fake leather - and a recycled watch strap buckle has been used to close it.

The glasses are actually made of small sea though acrylic makeup containers. I also made a small draw for them, to place inside the card.

OK - As if the goggles were not crazy enough - I decided to take it further. I wanted to place battery operated lights inside the card - with a switch that turns on the lights when you open the card!

So this is the inside of the card - with the lights, and the glasses.

The draw can be placed inside the box in the card. The motive is from Dulemba, coloured with promarkers

Wiring diagram for the lights

The switch itself, is a screw on the side of the card and a metal ring slotted inside the edge of the front of the card. The metal meets when the card is opened, which turns the switch on.

The front of the card.  A mixture of old clock parts, pars from a sewing machine and gears, cut with the silhouette.

The front of the card also has a working iris made ut of paper! I had a good look an the net for templates, however, the templates I found - were a bit wrong - so I redid it to make it work.
