The first few pages in a travel Journal

This is a travel journal I created for my personal post this month. I promised to show some of the pages, finished decorated later, so here are some of the pages.

The first few pages of the travel journal:

The journal pages has been decorated with stamps,  collectables and wooden embellishments (colourd with Kaisercraft's ink pads)

This is a more detailed photo of the envelope in the cover. I have also used a few stripes with glitter cardstock.

Some of the pages in the album is acetate. They are also decorated on both sides.

On some of the pages, I have left space for personal notes. On some of the pages, I have used glitter cardstock for decoration.

I have also used some of Kaisercraft's lace on some of the pages. The wooden items here, are one of the wooden flowers, that I have dismanteled and coloured with Kaiserink.

Some of the pages are acetate. These have been decorated, so they look ok from both sides of the page.

I am adding some space for photos taken on the trip. These will be added after the trip.

Go where your dreams take you - Travel Journal

This travel journal is my last project for my blogpost for Kaisercraft this month. I created this journal to have something to work on, while I was going on a holiday. The journal is decorated on the front, and the pages are left with just the paper from the collection, ready to be decorated while I am on holiday.

I have used a Bind it all machine to create the binding of the album. The cover pages are created from card board.

I have added a few envelopes throughout the album, to give space to store the collectables for the collection, before I use them in the album.

The pages has been simply decorated with papers from the collection. The pages will be decorated further at a later stage.

Updates can be found in later blogposts, on the decoration of some of the pages of this journal.

What you see - Art Journal

Some time ago I started an art journal. The art journal is a Mixed Media journal with art photos.Today, StampARTic's design team are inspiring you with doodling and writing in your art journal.

The photo is taken in Noosa (Queensland - Australia).

The paper is from Prima - Stationers desk collection. I have also used chipboard, buttons, metal, resin faceted cabochons and lace.

I have used distress ink and stencils to create the background effects. The brick background is chipboard from Wycinanka.

The metal and buttons has been coloured  with alcohol ink and MetaMica. The text "It's not what you look at that matters. It's what you see" is written with black pen on the page. I have also doodles some lines along the edges and written some words randomly on the background.

Believe you can - A Mixed Media Journal page

We are showing you Mixed Media projects at StampARTic today. Mixed Media is an art form, where you use a lot of different types of medias to create a finished product. Paper, plastic, metal and flowers are often used. Paint, stains and sprays are used to colour the background and the different medias to create shadows and different effects. There are a lot of different paperartists who create Mixed Media. Two of them are Aida Domisiewicz og Anna Dabrowska (Finnabair)

I have created a Mixed Media Journal page. Papers and some of the embellishments are mostly from Prima. Prima is also challenging crafters to "Think Pink" this month - so I did.

The background paper is from Prima - Something Blue Collection. I have used dilution sprays on the background, and created background effects in the paper with my own stencils and gesso. The metal has been coloured with Triton acrylic markers (acrylic paint in a marker). I have also tested Primas new leaves-  and lacy flower- dies.

The grass is made from polishing wool for cars, coloured with alcohol ink.

I use RX glue for most of the papers, polishing wool and ribbon and lace. I use Matte Super Heavy Gel (Liquitex) for the metal ands some of the embellishments.

Time is Precious - Art Journal Page

I have mad another page in my Art Journal. This is made after the Prima Build a Page sketch for September.

I have tested the Triton marker for the background and for the metal - and I must say I am really pleased with them.

The paper was first covered with Gesso, before colours and embellishment was added.

The blue colour is the Triton marker, where the colour is thinned with water.I have also used stamps and stencils to create the gray background effects.

The photo, is one I took last summer at the  Central Station in New York. I think I used about a minute shutter time.

Enjoy the Journey - An Art Journal Venture...

Today, we have a new inspirational post at StampARTic. This time, the design team have created different Art Journals and created backgrounds. I have not made a lot of Art Journal, just because I have struggled to find my own way, creating the journal. Some time ago, I found Finnabair's Family Journal online, and this was entirely my kind of journaling. I like the style, and I also like the fact that there is a theme going on through the Journal. So I got a book, and decided to have a go, but do it my own way.

The photo is one I took in New York this summer. My aim is to use my own photos and add a few good quotes, as well as creating different backgrounds, and testing out new techniques, products and Mixed Media effects, in the Journal.

I have used strips of paper, glued them to the page and covered the page in Gesso. Then, I have added dylusions spray, distress ink and strips and blocks of coloured paper I have also used different kind of metal and stencils.

The doilie has been coloured with distress ink.

This was the start of my book, and my Art / Mixed Media Journal venture.

12 tags of Christmas 2013 - Art Journal and paper piecing - tag number two

This tag was number two of a series of 12 tags in the December issue of the Norwegian magazine -  "Ett trykk". I wanted to show different styles and techniques. This is an example of  Art Journaling and paper piecing.

I have used Tim Holtz Sizzix: Movers & Shapers Base Die - Tag & Bookplates to create the basis for the tag. To create the background, I used Dylusions spray – Postbox red, squeezed orange and Cherry Pie. Heidi Swap – Color shine – Chartreuse. Then I stamped with Penny Black: Winter Scroll and  Inkadinkado; Christmas Holiday sentiments and Christmas tree. I made the white effects by using a white pen.

The teddy is a free digital stamp from Dustin Pike, coloured with promarkers. The underwear has been made with paper piecing. Paper piecing is a technique where you stamp the image onto several different papers, cut the different pieces out and glue them together to create the image. On this teddy, the underwear was printed onto blue card stock, cut out and glued onto the coloured teddy.

Envelope / package art

I must admit, that sending a plain box in the post can be a bit boring. Some time ago a friend of mine sent me a package through the post. She had decorated it with buttons - old buttons. I thought this was so funny. So, when this friend of mine and me was going to send a package together - the box got decorated :) We did one side each - and this is how my side turned out.

The page is about the size of A3. I have used watercolour paper as a base. The colour is a mixture of two dylusions sprays - squeezed orange and cherry pie. The sprays have been put into a separate spray bottle - and diluted with water.

The background stamps are from Tim Holtz. The gears and the key hole are cut from cardboard with Tim Holtz dies. I have coloured the diecuts with Gesso, MetaMica and Distress paint. The butterflies are from Graphics 45. The stencil in the background is a silhouette file - cut from a thin plastic film.

The wings and crone are stamps from Kort og Godt. The Aussie road signs, are stickers bought in Sydney.

The box was taped with clear tape to prevent the package art from being destroyed on its way to the recipient.

Altered distress ink storage

I have altered a box, and made a distress ink storage out of it. The box was painted black. Then I used aquarelle paper for the panels, sprayed with dylusions spray.

I have made individual shelves tor the distress ink pads inside the box. The shelves have been made from black chipboard. I have also marked each pad with the right colour on the side. This box has room for 10 ink pads.

So for all of you who wants to know where you can get a box like this from....

This is the box, and I found it at a flea Market last weekend. I think it originally was a box for a wine bottle.

The outside panels were sprayed with dylusions spray. Then I added pattern using gesso and handmade stencils. The text is from Tim Holtz - Stuff 2 say. The gears are also from Tim Holtz - Mini Blueprint 3.

The man with the umbrella is a dies from Tim Holtz - Umbrella man. I have cut the man in craft foam and stamped with it. I have used acrylic paint to stamp with. The gears are cut from gold paper with a silhouette.

I have also cut some gears with a Gear dies from Tim Holtz, coloured them with my distress inks and named them.

Because the dylusions sprays are water soluble - it will give colour quite easily  Therefore, I have spray coated the finished box with clear lacquer.

A bottle tag

I have made a bottle tag in an Art Journal - Collage style. The tag was cut in aquarelle paper and was sprayed with dylusions sprays and color shine. Then I sprayed it with water and added salt. I left the tag to dry. Then I drew the fishes and cut them out of different left over papers. The sea weeds are cut from green bazzill and painted with Metal Mica. The white leaves where stamped on, then painted with gesso and the black lines were drawn back on leaves.

Kort o Mania challenge and my first Art Journal

This time I have tried something new - Art Journaling. The background is made by using Caran d'Ache Water-soluble Artists' Pastels and water. I have also used Gesso. The stamp is a digital stamp from Lillidigi.com. coloured with promarkers.
