Working with alcohol ink on backgrounds

We are inspiering you with alcohol inks at StampARTic today. Alcohol ink is always an interesting to use. It gives so many oportunities to colour different materials and backgrounds and inspire me to test out new ways of using it.

Today, I am showing an acetate based card. The edge is made from Prima's - Seashore - Seahorse paper. The motive is from Pion, but most of the other papers and embellishments are from Prima.

I have used alcohol ink to create some background colour on the acetate, at the edge of the motive. The background has been built up with layers from paper, wood icons, metal, flowers, beads and glitter. At the end, some of the background was also coloured with alcohol ink

The back of the card. The card stand is a free cutting file from Birds Cards.

A Prima Center Step Easel card with tutorial

Today, I have created a tutorial for a Center Step Easel card for StampARTic.

This is an example of the card, finished decorated. The paper is a mixture of Prima's Butterfly-Vintage ATC and papers from old Prima collections. The Chipboard diecut is from Wycinanka. Roses are from Wild Orchids. I have also used different dies from Marianne design, Prima and Memory box. The leaf stamp and punch is from Nellie Snellen.

The step card is locked in place with the easel part of the card.

The back of the card is decorated with a flap, with space to  write a message.

How to create the card:

Here is the template for the card. Cut and score in bazzill, after the template in bazzill.

Glue the two parts together. This is split in two because of the short length of standard bazzill.

Cover the bazzill with panels of patterned paper.

Fold the Center step card.

Fold the Easel/ back side of the card around, and under the step side of the card.

The little flip at the end of the Easel card will hold the step card in place.

To fold the card flat, to send it, fold the Easel part of the card up, and into the middle of the card itself.

You are now able to fold the card flat.

Have fun

A turning Pion Merry go round

Today, we are using sponsored  Pion papers over at StampARTic. I have created a Merry go round box with papers from Pion.

The Merry go round is on a circular box and it does turn around.

I have used papers from  My Beloved son collection.

The horses have been cut from photos of some horses out of Pion papers. The supports are straws with washitape.

The box is also covered inside with Pion papers.

Here is a little film to show the box and how it is turning around.

I will be holding a class in creating 3D constructions like this in Larvik

The little house in the forest

We have a new challenge over at StampARTic. This time, the challenge is flowers.

I have designed a little house, with room for a treat or an electrical candle inside.

The house is made from papers from Prima; Sundried - Sun Kiss Collection. The roof tiles are made of an old sheet of Prima paper.

Flowers are from Prima and Wild Orchid. Some of the charms are from Korthobby.

I have used a chipboard bird and lamp from Wycinanka. The butterflies are from Prima.

The top of the house can be lifted out of the bottom part of the house, to give room for a little treat or for an electrical candle.

So I created a Stationary box. The tutorial is made by Henrikke in 2012 and can be found among . StampARTIcs old tutorials.
