Mixed media Easter decoration with Patina effect

I love working with rust and patina. There are several rust effect products being sold. Finnabair is also out with her new Patina effect paints. This new paint set looks a bit like the rust paint set with three different paints in one set. Here, I have used patina effect on a little bucket with easter eggs. 

The acrylic ornaments can be bought from Hobbykunst all year round. This one, has an opening in the front. 

I have glued metal and flowers on the bucket. Then, I have painted with copper and green/blue patina effect. 

The eggs are white when you get them from the shop. I have painted them with acrylic paint, and given them a spray of black mist. 

The base here, has been made with a circle of paper from Maja design: Long summer nights - Summer Crush. Around the bucket, I have decorated with leaves, flowers and small eggs.

Easter ornament with a hot air balloon

Acrylic ornaments are not just for Christmas. This has been created, using one of Hobbykunsts ornaments. Here, it has been decorated with easter colours. 

The tiny easter eggs are old, but Hobbykunst has got several easter eggs in the shop for decorations like this. 

Flowers are from Mathia and Petaloo.

The ornament can be devided into two halves, with a large opening in the front.

Table calendar with papers from Papirdesign

Here, I have created a small calendar with the new Christmas collection from Papirdesign.

The calendar has been created with thick cardboard. The cardboard has been cut in four pieces. Two larger ones to create the front and the back of the calendar, and two smaller ones used under the calendar. The cardboard pieces have been glued together with thick duck tape. The cardboard base has been covered with white paper. Then panels with Papirdesign paper, has been added. 

The calendar pages has been added in layers. The months are cut out from a Papirdesign paper. I have added layers with silver and white cardstock to the back of the calendar pages. I have added holes to the calendar pages with a punch. The book binder rings are going through the base of cardstock, and bind the calendar pages together. 

The calendar has been decorated simply inside. I always decorate my alter projects/ beyond the page items - on all the sides, including inside. I think this is important to give it a finished look. 

The ccalendar has been simply decorated at the back, with a personal stamp and a butterfly. 

On the side of the calendar, I have decorated it - mixed media style. I have used my own stencils, distress ink, and thick Opal Magic paint (One of the disadvantages of giving classes is that the paint does get thick as the lids are not always put perfectly back on. No worries - this is perfect for using with stencils). The flowers are from Petaloo. The heart is from Rayher.

Mixed media bottle

A lot of my crafts are create for different Design Teams. Quite a lot of the things I create, have a lot of products on them, and are not necessary cheep. I often say, don't save money on good glue, good paint/mists and the paper collections you want to work with. Sometimes I like to show, that you can indeed create something without spending a lot of money (other than on good glue and paint - and here a bit of flowers too). 

This is one of the things, that was just created for fun. A few weeks ago, I decided to just just create with something that would otherwise have been thrown away. I wanted to re-cycle or up-cycle something that most people would think of as trash. So, as I emptied this bottle of olive oil, I thought this would be ideal. I also used some of the netting from a bag of potatoes, car polishing yarn, old jewelry, beads and a few bits and bobs from my "might be useful draw". 

I glued a lot of different bits and bobs to the bottle, added yarn, netting from the bag of potatoes, The bottle was then painted with white acrylic paint. 

Then the bottle was sprayed with mists and sprays from 13arts, and Finnabairs paint

The wood pieces are from Prima, and were bought at Hobbykunst. I was lucky to find a box in the shop with "pick 10 things for next to nothing" 

Three cards, created with left over paper

Cards don't have to be large. These are 7x10cm. This is a nice size to use up left overs. These cards are created with Maja's new collection, Summertime.

The motive for this card is from the paper "Playing on the beach".

The motive on this card, is from the same paper as the background paper "Lets go for a ride". Just from the back of the paper. The flowers are from Petaloo. I have used a home made stencil at the top of the card, created with Tim Holtz/ Sizzix's Mixed media 2 thinlits dies in bazzill. The piece of bazzill have been used as a stencil. 

The last card has been created with left over paper in layers. The papers has been glued together with 3D foam tape. I have used Rayher Brads and a silver button and og en  knapp, cord with silver stripes from Rayher.

The back of the cards has been decorated with a panel and a "created by" stamp
