A clock shaker card

We have a new challenge at StampARTic. This time, the challenge is to create something with dies. I have made a shaped, shaker card with the Sizzix Bigz Die - Tick-Tock from Tim Holtz.

I used cardboard from an old box, and made diecuts. This created a small room inbetween the cardboard diecuts - to make room for the glass beads in the shaker card. The glass beads were coloured with alcohol ink, to create the blue colour. I covered the cardboard diecuts with paper from Maja. I decorated with flowers, a sea star and swirl/leaf and butterfly diecuts.

The image is a Magnolia stamp - Rose Scent Tilda. I have painted the stamp with watercolours. The background inside the shaker card is a stamp bought in England, a while ago.

Inside the card. The blue shaker beads can be seen .

I painted the backside of Tilda, green and added a small dog to create a different scene from the inside of the card.

The image inside is an old stamp, bought in England. It has been coloured with watercolours.

There is room for a personal message at the back of the card.

Captured Memories and shopping fund

I got a challenge from Hobbykunst, to decorate an MDF vase. This is the second vase I am decorating/altering for Hobbykunst. The first vase became an Alice in Wonderland clock.

Since this vase, was going to be on show in a shop, I decided to do two different vases in one. I made it different on each side to give the an idea of two different uses for the vase.

The MDF vase before it was altered. The vase was decorated with Prima papers - Princess collection; LilyAva, and Sophia. I also made some feet and a lid, out of an old cardboard box, for the vase.

The wedding present - Captured Memories:

On one side, I decorated it as a savings found for captured wedding memories.

I have distressed, torn and curled the top layer of paper, before it was glued onto the vase with Modge Podge. I have used distress paint in between the layers of paper, to create the extra colour effect.

The lid was made with several layers of cardboard from an old cardboard box, and then covered with Prima papers. The knob is a door knob from TGR.

I have also used a stencil and gesso to create the brick effect. The photos of the wedding flowers, are my own photos.

Flowers are a mixture from Prima, Petaloo and Mathia flowers. I have used cheese cloth in between the flowers.

Shopping fund - box of savings

On the other side, I decided to decorate the vase as a box of savings (for craft shopping).

I also wanted to use this month's Prima Product Pick for this side.

The photo is a of some of the new Prima goodies. I used a Swirl stencil, gesso and distress stain to create the background effects.

I have used bling and flowers, in between, the layers of paper.

The frame is a diecut, made from a Tim Holtz dies in silver paper.

A choclate orange box

We have some new inspiration at StampARic. This time we are using things from clothing.

I created a box for a chocolate orange (Freia's or Terry's). The stary paper is from papirdesign " Til konfirmanten". You can find the box template here.

I used an old belt buckle and some old buttons, in between the flowers, pearls and glass starts.

There is a small tag in a pocket on the back side of the box.

Steampunk gift box with template

I have seen a lot of different ways of covering or making boxes for chocolate. I wanted to do something different. I found a Freia chocolate orange in the shop. This is similar to Terry's Chocolate Orange, and the measurements should be the same.

The box was made in black cardstock after the template (at the end of this post). I used acetate to cover the windows. Papers are from Graphic 45 - Steampunk spells.

Black gears are Tim Holtz die cuts  gears. I have used distress paint and distress embossing powder to create the rusty effect. Golden gears are die cuts, cut with a Silhouette. The larger flowers are hand made from Graphic 45 papers.

The lid opens and reveals the chocolate orange.

The box, which the orange came in, has been removed. The clear plastic that keeps the orange still in the box, and the orange, has been transferred to the new hand made box.

I have left a tag on the back of the box, with room for a message on the back.

Mixed Media canvas - using trash

We have some new inspiration at StampARTic. We have challenged ourselves to make something for the home. I decorated a Tim Holtz canvas. Crafting can often be expensive. Therefore I decided to make a mixed media canvas, using a lot of things that are considered as trash, mixed with flowers and some embellishment.

The canvas is inspired of Finnabair and Tim Holtz

The photo is an old family photo. The car is a diecut from an old cardboard box - cut with Tim Holtz - Old Jalopy dies

I have used different paints and mediums (gesso, distress paint, MetaMica and acrylic black and brown paint) to colour the bits and bobs on the canvas.

This is what the canvas looked like before I painted it. The bits and bobs are from a two dismantled clocks, a dismantled computer and sewing machine, soda can tabs, old buttons and charms
