Top 10 2017 - 2017 in in review

2017 has been a different year, and a year of change for me. I started the year with writing for to magazines - Ett trykk and The papercrafting, and beeing on two amazing design teams for scrap book manifacturers - Kaisercraft and LDRS creative, and design team for Norways best craft shop (in my opinion) - Hobbykunst

Scandinavian Scrapbooker of the year 2016

I was also nominated for Scandinavian Scrapbooker og the year 2016 in March. I don't really like nominations like this, and there are a lot of reasons for that. One of them is that there are a lot of fantastic artists that will never be nominated for things like this. To be honest, this was a difficult nomination, as I was nominated with a few of my close friends. I really wanted my friends to win this. I was very happy to see that Susanne was the winner of this title.

My top 10

Choosing top 10 was difficult, but I have chosen a few different creations. The first half of the year, I was crafting every day, as you really need to work hard, beeing on several design teams. I had several layouts at CHA for Kaisercraft, and a dress and cards at CHA for LDRS creative. I was published i the Kaisercraft magazines a few times over the year. I also had a few craft classes.

The last half year, I have reduced the hours of crafting. There is a lot of personal reasons for this, and I am never really to personal when I write my blogposts or on social media. I have moved from one town to another, changed job and I am now getting settled. This is taking a lot of my time, and this is why I have reduced the number of hours used on crafting. I finished as a designer for Kaisercraft and writing for the magazine Ett trykk.  I will still write for the Papercrafting, and design for LDRS creative and Hobbykunst in 2018.

Top 10 for 2016

2016 has been a fantastic year. It started with getting some of my artwork shown at CHA, at Kaisercraft's stand. Four of my layouts and a paper dress was picked for the stand. I also visited CHA in January. This was a fantastic trip.

I posted every day from CHA. You can see lots of photos and films from CHA- spring 2016 in my blogposts for January 2016:

The 1870's paper dress

This dress was created for Kaisercraft, in one day, and sent around the world to Australia. Then the dress was shipped to America, to be shown at CHA. When CHA was over, I picked up the dress, anb brought it with me home. The dress managed a trip around the world without being destroyed.

Finnabair's rust pastes

Finnabair showed a lot of fantastic new products at CHA. The rust pastes was something I really have enjoyed working with this year.

The Graphic 45 tram

Laura Denison had designed a tram for Graphic 45's stand. I got a task from Hobbykunst, to create a tram with Graphic 45's City scapes. I decided to create a Norwegian version, and created it to look like Oslo's first tram.

Small mixed media canvas

This is a small canvas, created with lots of Prima and Kaisercraft products. I also created a tutorial for the canvas.

Large Mixed Media canvas

This was a large mixed media canvas created this spring. The canvas is 40cm x 70cm. The canvas has been created with Prima papers and products and has become quite a dear canvas for me. A lot of the items used, is from old sewing machines, buttons, zips and Prima flowers. I do sew a lot, so this was made with that in mind. The photo on the canvas is of my dog, who passed away this summer.

Confirmation wishes

This is a confirmation set, created with papers from Papirdesign for Hobbykunst. The tutorial for the shoes, card and pop-up box, can be found in the blogpost.

The Prima Wedding dress

This dress was created using fabric hardener and some of Prima's new flower and paper collections this spring. The dress was created with I have a tutorial for the dress in the blog. I have used deco foil on the dress and entered Fave Crafts competition after the Bloggers Networking Event after CHA.

Vintage compass box with a minialbum

This is a compass box with a minialbum. All the papers are from Prima's French Riviera collection. The binoculars are hand made, and they do work.

Minialbum with a vintage camera box

I had been on Kaisercraft's design team for a year, and I decided to try for another year on the Kaisercraft design team. Applying for Kaisercraft, you apply for the first round, and then they have a second round with the top 25. Everyone who enters the second round, gets a collection to work with for the second round. I must admit, I do like this kind of application. There are so many people applying for these designteams, that I do like the idea of a second round. I got onto the design team for another year, and I am really happy for that.

Christmas ornaments

I have created a large amount of Christmas ornaments this season. This ornament is one of them. The ornaments has been with small planes, vintage gramophone, vintage cars, houses, churches, towns and with a hint of steampunk.

Design teams and magazines

This year I have been on Kaisercraft's and Hobbykunst's design teams for the start of the year. At the end of the year, I started writing for The Papercrafting and Ett trykk. I have also been asked to be on the design team for Little Darlings - LDRS - creative, and will start with that from January.

Wishing you all a happy new year.

Another year is almost over, and it is time to look back at last year and some of the creations I made.

Top 10 for 2013

Last day of 2013. No snow, plus degrees and lots of wind, a bit unusual to be Norway at this time of the year.  I figured it was time to look back and make a top 10 list for last year. Choosing 10 things is a difficult task. I have tried to find 10 quite different things.

In march I got picked to be on the Design Team for Hobbykunst, the largest craft shop in Norway. The working team at the shop, had just been to the CHA exhibition, and found an altered book from  Janine Koczwara, and they really wanted me to create something similar as decoration for the shop. I do not like to copy other exactly  - so I made my own version. More photos can be found here

One of the tasks I got this year from Hobbykunst was to make a layout. I started making a lot of layouts, when I started scrapping, but that is a long time ago. I was good fun to have another go. More photos and info can be found here.

In March, I entered a competition at Ski treffet. My task was to create something with chocolate. I was just going to decorate a box of chocolate, but it ended up as a working gramophone (although the music is poor quality). The gramophone is now at  Hobbykunst. More info about the gramophone can be found here

In march, I decided to try to get one of my items published in a magazine. This was published in the June issue of Ett trykk. More info can be found here

This owl is a Muji owl, altered and painted. I have glued individual feathers on it, and decorated it. More info and to see the owl before it got decorated is in this blog post.

The steampunk dress. The dress form is handmade and the dress is sewn from Coffee filters and old lace. More information and link to the dress form template can be found here.

This was a card I made as the first card in the European Scrap Battle, but also my Design Team application for the online magazine StampARTic. I was very pleased to find that I got the DT position. The plane is a pop-up plane - an will pop up when a flap is turned over. Template and more photos of the card can be found here.

I was featured as a Guest Designer in the magazine "Ett trykk" in October. Some of the items has been posted in the blog, and some will be posted next year. One of the items shown was "The Alice in Wonderland altered vase":

This was a task from Hobbykunst, where I am on the design team. I really enjoy getting task that seems a bit impossible. I was asked to alter an MDF vase. So I turned it upside down, altered it, mounted a clock and mounted lights in it. This lamp was also featured in Ett trykk - where I was a guest designer in October. More about this can be seen here.

I entered the European Scrap battle in Alter and Cards. Lots of time was invested in the competition. This was my semi-final contribution. I did not go further in alter, but had really good competition. All the contributions in alter can be found here.

This was my final contribution in cards in the European Scrap battle. Two cards, mirroring each other. The cards are pop - up cards. I got 2.nd place in cards in this battle. All the contributions in cards can be found here
