Choose happiness layout

Working with the specialty papers with a gloss pattern, is really fun. Adding mists, sprays or ink to them creates nice pattern on the background paper. This layout was created for Kaisercraft for my monthly post.

The photo was taken a few years ago, with sunset over Uluru. I have also used the embossing folder EF229 Postmarks on the paper under the photo.

The 1870s paper dress with the cottage rose collection

This dress was created for CHA - spring 2016. I have shown a tutorial for the roses in Kaisercraft's blogpost this month. I have also added the rose tutorial further down in this blogpost. The dress is created over a dress form, with an underskirt and a crinoline over the underskirt. The ruffles are fixed to the crinoline. The dress also has a bustle, which was typical for dresses in the periode from the 1870s to the 1890s.

The pattern for the dress was created over a weekend from copy paper, and the dress itself was created over one evening.

The ruffles and the bustle can be shown from the side and back of the dress.

The orchids have been created from CD101 Coconut Weave cardstock. The petals have been cut and coloured with ink from Kaisercraft's inkpads.

This dress has also traveled around the world. It was sent from Norway to Kaisercraft in Australia by post. Then, it was sent to California in the US to go to CHA. I picked the dress up from CHA, when it was over and brought it back with me to Norway in the hand luggage on the airplane.

Minialbum in an old style compass box with working paper binoculars

Hobbykunst has got one of my favourite Prima collections this spring, French Riviera. I have created a minialbum in a small box with this collection.

Compass box with working binoculars

This collection is a "maritime" collection, so I created an old style compass box for the album. I have also created a small pair of binoculars, which is decorating the top of the box.

The box has been made from scratch, with two compartments, one compartment for the compass and one for the minialbum. The locks for the boxes has been created with Kaisercraft's drawer nobs and rubber bands from Tim Holtz. The handles are from an old drawer. The corner at the top, are from Kaisercraft.

The window in the compass box has been created with half an acrylic ornament from Rayher. The flowers in the lid are from Prima - Vieille ville, fra French riviera. The letters at the top of the box and at the side, is cut out with a Silhouette from double sided sticky sheets, and then I added Thermoweb's decofoil over it.

The "antique" binoculars are created from bazzill and golden foil. These are my own design.

I added some larger glass pebbles at the front of the binoculars, as lenses. This makes it possible for the binoculars to work.

The box has two different compartments. The top compartment, is the compass box itself. The compass arrows are from an old large wall clock. They do turn around. The diecut in the compass is created from Decorative die sailing collage (DD730). I have decorated with Prima flowers  and small diecuts from Prima's French Riviera watercolor pad. The moties has been coloured with watercolours before they were added as decoration.

The largest compartment of the box reveals the minialbum.

Both the minialbum and the box, has been created from scratch wtih cardboard and bazzill.

This minialbum has been created with five pages inside. This gives a lot of space for decoration and photos, since there is also a lot of flaps and tags. Several companies sell metacl corner like these. You can find similar ones from Rayher

Minialbum

I have also used Prima's French Riviera collection for the minialbum. There is a lot of mixed media on the pages. The photos are from California.

I have used several layers of papers, old background stamps from Prima and motives from Prima's watercolour pad

The photo is of  Long Beach, taken from Queen Mary. The papers has been added in layers, and there is decofoil on the background paper as an effect.

The blue wooden pattern is from the paper collection. The film is a piece of a washi tape.

I have added simple tags in between some of the pages.

The tag at the top, has a photo with sunset over Hollywood. The text on the tag is cut out with a silhoutette in golden paper.

The star on the photo is from Hollywood boulevard. The stars on the street is full of names famous actors and actresses. I took a photo of a star without any names on it, so I could write my own text. The text here is written with dies on a sticky sheet, and with decofoil over the top.

A lot of the photos in this album, is art photos from the gardens of several artists in California.

On this page, I have created layers with papers, photo and flowers. The photo is from a street marked.

I have also added tags in between the pages.

I have also used small pieces of Rayher's glittertape on a lot of the pages. On this page, I have used white glittertape. The "No.1" sign is taken inside Queen Mary, in the engine room.

"Enjoy the Journey" is a Tim Holtz dies.

I have used several layers of paper on this page, decofoil and some of Finnabair's mixed media products. The flower is a cacti, that I found flowers in a park in Long Beach.

The last page has also been built simmple, where the page is built up in layers.

This album has also been created, using some of the craft supplies I got from Thermoweb after the Blogger Event at CHA 2016.

Family layout, Kaisercraft's April challenge

It is April, and we have a new challenge in Kaisercraft's blog

I have used Cottage rose collection for this layout. The flowers are hand made.

The page is layered with corrugated paper between the layers of patterned paper.

Kaisercraft materials: Cottage Rose Collection: P2071 Welcome | P0275 Weatherboards | CT854 Collectables | SS311 Sticker sheet | PP995 Paper Pad | DD373 Pansy flowers.

Other: Corrugated cardboard | Cotton string |Acrylic paint | gesso.

Sea Breeze pop-up card

Sea Breeze is one of this months paper collections. I have created a pop up card in a box this time. The card has been made as a flower pot, filled with flowers and swirls.

The card has been made as an ordinary card in a box card (see link to description under).

Strips of paper has been added along the top, to create places to  fix flowers, leaves and swirls. Swirls has been stamped onto acetate. The swirls has been cut out and glued to the top of the box.

The box fold together, and is easy to send. I find that it is useful to add a small paperclip to the card in the post. This will stopp the fold from folding open during transport.

You can find the tutorial for the card in this blogpost. In this card, the flower pot has been created with a slightly slimmer bottom part of the pot.

Kaisercraft materials: PP994 Paper Pad | CS253 Clear Stamp | CD 101 Coconut Weave cardstock.

This is a simple layout crated for Kaisercraft for the design team takeover. I have used the Finders Keepers collection, and used one of the quotes for the collection.
