Hobbykunst has got new concrete paste in the shop. It fantastic to work with, together with the moss and rust paints from Folk Art. Here, I have tested a combination of all these products.
The frame is from a flee market. It was old and the paint peeled off it. I liked the pattern on it, and painted it with the concrete paste. I used the sponges that came with the paste, to paint the frame. Rince the sponge under cold water after use, and you can reuse it.
The canvas used here, is 10x10cm. The canvas has been covered with the concrete paste. I have used the moss paint different places around the canvas for effect. The moss paint has been added with sponge.
The heart has been cut out from black cardboard. It has been painted with rust paint. First the dark brown paste, and then the light paste here and there. The paint has been added with a sponge.
It is Christmas soon. In two months, the Christmas stars are popping up in Norwegian windows. Here, I have created a small and different Christmas star, with gold leafs, rust paint and acrylic paint.
There is a lot of fantastic things created by other artists online. You don't always find out everything yourself, if you look around. The idea for this star, is something I found on a facebook page, decopagecraft.com, where a similar technique were used to create some Christmas ornaments.
Creating the Christmas star
Paint the inside of the acrylic star with mediun or decopage glue. Add gold leaf and let it dry.
Paint over the leaf gold, on the inside of the star. Use rustpaint in places and paint with brown acrylic paint. Let i dry.
Paint with black acrylic paint over the brown paint, inside the star, and let it dry.
The star has then been decorated with a painted pearl string around the edge. The decoration in the middle of the star is metal and clay, painted black, and drypainted with chalk paint.
It is now three months until Christmas, and Kaisercraft has got some wonderful Christmas collections out this year. I have created a Pop-up mini album with with the Silent Night collection, for this weeks Tutorial Tuesday, in Kaisercraft's blog.
The album
The album, is quite a simple album with four pages.
Album tutorial:
Decorating the album, and Pop-up effects
The first page is decorated with lace, wooden embellishments and flower. I left space for a photo.
The next page is decorated with flowers, wooden embellishments, pop-up effects and space for a photo.
This page, is decorated as a "swing" card. I have used the half circle from one of Kaisercraft dies, DD318 Decorative Die CC Snowflake, to create the effect.
This is shown in the tutorial at the end of the blogpost.
On the other side, there is a heart pop-up.
The tutorial for this pop-up heart, is shown in the video at the end of the blogpost.
In the middle page, I have got a pop-up santa. The tutorial for this pop-up effect is also shown in the video. I have also left space for a photo on the left side.
This page is simply decorated, with space for a photo.
On this page, I have created a pop-up cube. You can find the template for the cube in this blogpost. There is a rubber band inside the cube, that makes it pop-up, when the page is opened.
The last page is simply decorated with lace and wooden embellishment. There is space to add a photo.

We are showing Christmas tags with the Frosted collection in Kaisercraft's blog today. This time, I have created shaped Nutcracker tags, using one of Kaisercraft's new dies together with the Frosted Collection.
I have used the dies together with the patterned paper, and added white cardtock behind the diecut. As embellishment, I have used wooden snowflakes and the collectables, together with charms, beads and string.
All the four tags are created in the same way, just adding different patterned paper and embellishments.
