Mixed media canvas, published in TPC

This is a mixed media canvas, created for the magazine TPC last autumn. 

I have used stencils, pastes, and lots of bits and bobs from my mixed media draw. The flowers are from different minicacturers, but there are also hand made roses, created with Prima paapers. 

I often start with creating structure on the canvas with stencils and pastes. Then I have used an old frame, pieces from an old computer and left over pieces from the concrete industry. .

The picture has been sprayed black, and then I have worked on the other colours. I have used blue and lilac paints and carefully spray painted in white. The motive s from Queen Mary i Long Beach.

Vinterlandskap i kule

Vi er inne i et nytt år. Det er mørketid og vinter og scrappetid for mange. Her er et lite vinterlandskap i en 14 cm delbar kule. Det finnes også mange andre delbare kuler i varierte størrelser i butikken.

Kirken, husene og broen er mitt eget design. Her er det brukt ark fra en liten blokk fra Kaisercraft - Home for Christmas. Disse små blokkene er supre til å lage små prosjekter som dette.

På undersiden av kulen er det lagt strukturpasta fra Rayher med glitter i.

Top 9 in 2019

Another year is almost over. A year with a lot of changes for me. Exams, selling two houses and moving into a new house and a change of job. Packing and unpacking the craft studio and getting into a new one. Therefore, there has been little time for crafting. I have tried to find nine projects that is my top nine for this year.

Top 9 projects

The first project is a layout created for the magazine TPC. Never stop exploring is a Prima layout with collections from 2010 and 2011.

The next project is a print tray project with Little one Blue collection from Reprint. This project was created for Hobbykunst.

This project was a challenge I got from Hobbykunst, to build something 3D inside a tiny 4cm glass bell jar from Tim Holtz. I used Prima's Christmas in the country collection to create a tiny church.

This project was a mixed media project using Colour Burst Pigments. I have only had a few classes this year. This canvas was one of my classes.

This project is a wedding mini album created with Reprint's I do collection. 

This star was created for Hobbykunst's advent calendar. It features Prima's Christmas in the country collection.

This is a Rocket gift box created for Hobbykunst with Maja design's Denim and girls collection. You can find a template for the box in the blogpost.

This Easter egg is a mixed media Easter egg with Fortnite inspiration, It's created using an acrylic Easter egg, golden on the inside and lots of structure on the outside.

The last project is a card created with Prima's Port Of St. Tropez collection and Huldra textstamps.

A Prima layout with old collections

After moving house, packing up my craft room and establishing a new one, I have found some of my really old craft stuff. I have really loved Prima for many years, so I do have a lot of old Pria collections. I have never really wanted to throw them away or give them away. So this was a chance to create something new with some old collections. This layout was created for an article for the magazine TPC, to give crafters inspiration to create new things with old collections and craft stash. 

The background paper is from Prima's Pastiche collection - Heartstrings, from2010.  Some of the other collections are from 2011.

The text - Never stop exploring is from a stencil from Rayher.  The yellow paste isa white thick paste from Rayher, colloured with yellow Colur Burst pigment.  The photo is one I took myself in New York-

The layout has become a new style layout with older collections. 

I hope this inspired you to find some of your older collections.

Mixed media canvas with tutorial

Mixed media is a fun and creative way to use old  bits and bobs you have at home. This is an artile I wrote for the magazine TPC last summer. Here, I have use and old pair og scissors, metal bits and old trash. I have also shown a tutorial in potos and video.

First, I added embossed paper to and old piece of MDF. Then I glued paper die cuts, metal and the pair of scissors. I used Liquitex heavy gel as glue.

After the glue had dried, I put the piece in a cardboard box and spraypainted it black. 

For this project, I used black spraypaint from Biltema.

When the spraypaint had dried, I used a mix of pink and read paint and cobber was from Finnabair. Follow the video tutorial bellow to follow the painting process.

Jul i stua og riktig god jul- Hobbykunst sin julekalender 24, desember

Da er det blitt julaften og for de fleste senker juleroen seg i stua. 

I dag er det en liten julestue i julekalenderen. Denne kulen er en delbar kule på 8cm i diameter, men Hobbykunst har også en mengde andre størrelser inne i butikken.

Dette husert er laget i eget design. Huset er 4xm høyt, med gjerde, vinduer og takstein. Hele huset er kuttet ut med Silhouette, da dette blir for smått å klippe eller kutte for hånd og få det pent. 

Til slike prosjekter trenger du ikke så mye ark. Dette er fra Prima sin Rose Quartz kolleksjon - 6x6 blokka.

I underkant er det brukt Rayher sin strukturpasta, som jeg har blitt så glad i. Her er det også strødd hvit glitter i pastaen mens den er våt.

Julekalender hos Hobbykunst - enkle julekort

Hobbykunst har hatt julekalender hele desember. Et av innleggene var noen enkle julekort med ark fra Reprint-  Nordic light Collection - Dear Santa. Arket er rødt på baksiden og har herlige syklende nissemotiver på framsiden,

Kortene her er laget ganske enkle. Det er brukt to paneler som er lagt over hverandre og rufset opp i kantene.  Nissemotivene er kuttet ut med dies fra Regal Frame Die Set fra LDRS. 

Kortene er pyntet enkelt med litt roser og forskjellige utstansede figurer med gren og fugler fra Winter Bird house dies settet til Rayher.
