Mixed media is so much fun and quite challenging. There a huge amount of techniques that can be used. Even if you have worked with it for a long time, you never really know everything. There are so many things that can be altered, and even if you alter the same ting over again, it will never end up just the same. Mixed media does not need to be an expensive hobby. You do need some good glue, paints and mists, but other than that, you can find a lot of old things to use This is one of those examples. I have used an old toy can and a lot of old jewelry to make this little mixed media van.
The old van is a Jimmy van from the Norwegian kids series Gråtass. The van was found in a second hand shop.
First, I painted the car white. Then I glued several pieces of jewelry, buttons, microbeads and other bits and bobs on it, and painted them white too.
Then, I sprayed parts of the car with green and blue sprays.
Flowers and snowballs were glued on.
On the back, I have added a small tree. At the base, I have added a small circle of linen, and tied it around the base of the tree.
The Christmas gifts, has been created with Kaisercraft's Sea Breeze collection. I have used ribbon and paper strips around the gifts. I have also added a small raindeer at the back.
This mixed media van, can be seen at Hobbykunst.
